Touch Rugby: The first ever competitive touch game hosted by GESS was great fun to watch. Our 16U girls welcomed Canadian International School for a friendly and a fast-paced, action-packed game developed quickly. With seconds to go, the score was 3-3 and the opponent pressed hard for another try. Our girls, however, defended well, held their line and secured the draw.

Basketball: Our 19U girls and our 12U boys have one thing in common, they just keep winning all their games. The girls celebrated victory number six at Anglo-Chinese School (33-4), whereas the boys defeated both Canadian School (29-8) and UWC East (36-31). The 19U boys lost a hard-fought game at Dulwich College (38-53). Our 16U boys won at GEMS Academy by 58-8.

Volleyball: It was a successful volleyball week for GESS, with all our 14U teams winning their games and not even conceding a single set to the opponents. The boys are yet to be defeated after winning 2-0 against both Singapore American and Australian School. Both girls’ teams are back on track as they proved too strong for UWC Dover and Stamford American.

Badminton: Big badminton day at GESS last Tuesday as we hosted another 11U match day. Our two teams were up against UWC East and performed well. Team A lost the first match 2-4 but fought back and secured a 3-3 draw in the second round. Our B team managed to win both their matches 4-2.

Football: The 14U girls showed that they should clearly not be counted out in this tough Division 1. The 5-2 home win against UWC East was without a doubt a well-deserved one. The boys faced Nexus for what was probably the most eagerly awaited match-up this season. They played well but the opposition was just a tad too strong and eventually GESS lost 2-5.
