Volleyball: How close was that! Our 19U girls lost the division’s top game against Australian School after five heart-stopping sets. Kudos to both teams for a very entertaining, high-class match and outstanding fighting spirit! The girls did win their away game at ICS though (3-1), and our 16U team, too, celebrated an important victory this week, 3-0 over AIS.

Badminton: The 14U boys’ team had two matches and they lived up to their reputation as one of the teams to watch out for this year. A close-fought victory over Anglo-Chinese School (3-2) was followed by a smashing 5-0 against Canadian School.

Football: Both the 16U boys and the 19U girls had tough first games in Division 1. UWC Dover was a tad too strong for our boys, and the girls also lost their encounter against Tanglin Trust. The three 9U teams played fantastic junior tournaments at Dover Court and St. Joseph’s!

Basketball: GESS hosted this year’s first 11U ACSIS tournament. Six teams took part and spectators provided for a truly vibrant atmosphere at the Sports Hall. It was the first ever basketball competition for some of our boys but they did not show any signs of nerves, all playing great ball!

Swimming: 28 GESS Dolphins made a first competitive appearance at the Merlion Sprint League last Wednesday. It was an intense, yet fun event with lots of races for all swimmers. 4th place for our Dolphins who also showed outstanding dedication and team spirit, supporting each other in great fashion.
