What a chance that was to pick up the league points in a tough season opening game at Singapore American School. 25-22; 19-25; 17-25 was the score line of our 14U girls’ game, and it was not in their favor. Coach Kunimi was happy though with the performance delivered.

GESS 11U boys won last week’s match-up against Nexus with 4-to-1 points, whereas the girls had another tough Division 1 nut to crack and were eventually defeated by Global Indian School Punggol.

Third game, third win – the 12U boys’ team overcame Tanglin Trust 29-23. They were promoted after last year’s title in Division 3, but just keep showing strong performances against tougher opponents. Our 19U senior boys fought well against UWC Dover but unfortunately missed a last minute lay-up chance to win the game.

All our junior teams (10U girls, 10U boys, 11U boys) started into ACSIS Season 2 with successful tournaments. The 14U boys’ team lost after a promising comeback with 3-5 against Chatsworth, before playing a 2-2 draw in their home game against St. Joseph’s. The girls, in the meantime, celebrated a formidable 3-1 victory over championship contender SAS.
